The increase in work to deliver repairs to critical infrastructure across the Northern Rivers impacted by the 2022 floods is driving demand for workers on both state and local government projects.
To address the need for additional trained workers in the civil construction industry, the NSW Reconstruction Authority, in partnership with NSW Training Services and Fusion Training Solutions, is delivering a free Introduction to Civil Construction skillset training program.
This free 5-day program will run in Lismore from 13 to 17 January 2025, and in the Tweed from 20 to 24 January 2025. The training will include 3 units of competency, including on-site training and assessment, designed to prepare students for a role in the civil construction industry.
During the course students will complete the following:
- Carry out basic leveling – RIICCM208E
- Operate small plant and equipment – RIISAM204E
- Support plant operations – RIICCM206E
