Hosted by Regional Development Australia Murray, Regional Futures in Focus: Electrification of the Hume Highway will bring together industry leaders, infrastructure providers, logistics operators and government to explore the future of electric freight along one of Australia’s most important supply chain corridors.
Connecting Melbourne and Sydney, the Hume Highway is a critical freight route linking ports, manufacturing, agribusiness and distribution networks across the eastern seaboard. This practical one-day event will examine the opportunities, challenges and investment already shaping the transition to electric freight.
The program will include keynote insights from transport electrification expert Mark Gjerek from MOV3MENT, global perspectives from NewVolt and the Drive to Zero initiative, discussions on charging infrastructure and grid readiness, real-world freight and manufacturing case studies, electric truck displays and demonstrations, and practical conversations about electric truck capability, including range, payload and terrain.
The event is designed for people working across freight, logistics, manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, government and regional development.
An optional visit to the Wodonga TAFE Heavy Vehicle Technology Precinct will also be held on Friday 14 August, giving attendees the opportunity to experience electric heavy vehicles on the driver training track.
