Visitor economy businesses across New South Wales will have the chance to boost their skills and create more meaningful travel experiences, as Destination NSW rolls out a series of free Experience Development workshops in 2025.

The full-day workshops, offered under the agency’s NSW First Program, aim to equip tourism operators—from accommodation providers to tour and attraction businesses—with tools to create personalised, sustainable and memorable experiences for travellers.

Experience-led tourism is at the heart of the NSW Government’s current review of the NSW Visitor Economy Strategy, which reflects shifting consumer demand for deeper, more authentic connections with people, place and culture.

The program will run across regional NSW, with a final virtual session offered via Zoom:

  • Maitland – 13 May
  • Lismore – 15 May
  • Shellharbour – 21 May
  • Coonamble – 3 June
  • Orange – 5 June
  • Virtual – 26 June.

The initiative is part of a broader push to strengthen the state’s visitor economy by fostering locally led, high-quality experiences that highlight the diverse character of NSW.
